France - Armoured Corps - Military helmet - Adrian battle tanks - 1918

Authentic Adrian Mle 1915 helmet modified for battle tanks (called special artillery during the 1914–1918 war). The modification, performed in 1918, involves cutting the visor to replace it with a fabric-and-leather padded rim sewn together. It is normally planned to remove the crest and replace it with a metal plate. On the helmet offered for sale, a leather crest replaces the metal crest. The interior paint is horizon blue. On the outside, the helmet has been painted black (to match the black leather jacket worn by tank crews). The artillery insignia is present on the front. The leather interior is present, as is a chinstrap that is not of the regulatory model (probably an officer’s model). A rare and authentic piece with a beautiful patina. Helmet particularly rare and interesting, used during the period 1917/1918 before the adoption of the Model 1919 helmet with a round metal insignia. Shipping by La Poste or by Mondial Relay
