Framed collection of twelve antique and vintage match safes, or vesta cases, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The assorted metal cases feature a variety of engraved, repousse, embossed, foliate, and figural decoration, including Art Nouveau-influenced examples. Individually mounted and presented in a custom shadowbox against a dark blue ground with gilt-edged matting, within a giltwood frame. A decorative collection reflecting the variety of designs produced for pocket match safes during the period. Art size: 16" W x 24" H, framed size: 19" W x 26" H.
