Fossil shark tooth in natural matrix with accessory cusp...

Fossil Shark Tooth with Accessory Cusplet on Matrix – Morocco A striking fossil shark tooth preserved on its sedimentary matrix, originating from the renowned phosphate deposits of Morocco, an area famous for its exceptional marine vertebrate fossils. The specimen features a large, elongated crown with a strong and elegant profile. The enamel displays attractive natural shades ranging from cream and beige to warm brown, with darker longitudinal markings that emphasize the structure of the tooth and give it considerable visual depth. Particularly interesting is the presence of a well-defined accessory cusplet alongside the main crown. This secondary cusp adds both anatomical interest and character to the specimen, making it especially appealing for collectors of fossil sharks and prehistoric marine fauna. The tooth has been carefully prepared and consolidated to improve its stability and preserve its delicate fossil structure. Natural fractures, mineralization patterns and surface variations remain visible and are consistent with the geological history of the specimen. The surrounding matrix provides an attractive contrast with the smoother surface of the crown and gives the fossil a strong three-dimensional, museum-style presentation. With its impressive proportions, preserved accessory cusplet and distinctive natural coloration, this specimen is an excellent example of Morocco's rich fossil heritage and would make a noteworthy addition to a fossil collection or natural history display. Tooth dimensions, excluding matrix: 7.5 × 4.5 × 2.4 cm
