A hand crafted folk art bagatelle board with an astral motif. 19th to early 20th century. Solid wood construction. Hand painted comets, stars, and planets. Obstacle pins have been removed from the face of the board, and are not included. The engraved brass bell at the center floats freely and is not attached to the board. This board is manually operated, a marble goes into the covered section on the lower right, the board is balanced on a table via an additional block affixed to the upper center of the board while players pivot the board manually with both hands on the center left and right. 32 1/4 x 12 x 3 1/2". Condition General wear consistent with age and use, scuffing, and minor paint loss. Missing one wooden plug that covers a screw on the upper right. All obstacle pins have been removed.
