Flavia Delgado - CHERRY BOMB XL

CHERRY BOMB is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the aesthetics of classic American diners, pin-up culture, and mid-20th-century advertising graphics. The work depicts a waitress holding a tray with milkshakes crowned by cherries, within an environment that evokes the old American roadside cafés and diners. The scene conveys a blend of nostalgia, glamour, and visual energy characteristic of the North American retro imagination. Flavia Delgado blends influences from pop art, classic comics, and vintage editorial illustration, evoking the old illustrated covers and commercial advertisements of the fifties and sixties. The bold black outlines and the vibrant palette in tones of red, blue, cream, and black provide graphic strength and a clearly cinematic aesthetic. The composition plays with iconic symbols of diner culture: chrome stools, milkshakes, classic uniforms, and striking typography. All of this is simplified into a direct and powerful image where the main character takes on an almost advertising presence. The contrast between the intense red background and the decorative elements creates a dynamic and immersive atmosphere, while the confident expression of the female figure reinforces the piece’s elegant and laid-back character. CHERRY BOMB combines American nostalgia, graphic design, and contemporary sensibility in a work conceived to bring color, personality, and a strong visual presence to the space.
