Fish serving set - Wood, Brass - Knife and carving fork

Splendid and evocative vintage serving and carving set consisting of a knife and a large meat/fish fork, finely interlocked inside a central snap-fit sheath. The entire set, when closed, recreates the sculpted figure of a fish. The handles of the two utensils represent respectively the head and tail of the fish, while the central sheath forms its body, decorated with a scalelike cut pattern and embellished with fins and structural details in brunished brass. • Materials: Solid wood finely hand-carved, blades in stainless steel, inserts and support feet in brass. • Origin: Traditional Indian artisanal production (very common as an export item and a valued souvenir in the last century). • Conditions: Overall excellent aesthetic condition, the wood retains a beautiful glossy patina and the brass details are solid. Ideal both for scenographic table display and as a collectible item or decorative element for lovers of nautical/rustic style. Indicative year 1950s / 1960s (mid-20th century) Note: These characteristic serving sets were made in India mainly between the 1950s and 1970s.
