Figurine - Prachtige Vintage 'Sosaku' (Creatieve)...

A very charming and rare Japanese Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi doll handcrafted by the celebrated master craftsman Hajime Miyashita (1940-2006). This specific model stands out for its serene, meditative face with closed eyes and a beautifully stylized wooden body with incised and subtly colored cross patterns, which refer to a traditional kimono. Hajime Miyashita was an extremely successful and highly regarded artist who won the prestigious Prime Minister's Award in 1977. Since his studio and shop were destroyed by a fire in 2006, his work has not been produced and his dolls have become highly sought-after collectibles among lovers of Japanese folk art. In good vintage condition with beautiful natural wood patterns and minimal signs of aging consistent with the age (see photos for an accurate impression). For shipments within the European Union, no customs clearance charges are included. The item will be carefully packed and shipped. Please note that the packaging has been done by a private individual and not by a professional service, so perfect packaging quality cannot be guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding
