This specific model stands out due to the pickup configuration (HSS/HS-hybrid look) with a humbucker in the neck position and a single-coil element in the bridge. The guitar combines a traditional body shape with modern upgrades. With an almost unbelievable price point considering its high-end Japanese construction, this guitar is beautifully finished and punches well above its price bracket in terms of features. As well as FGN’s unique C.F.S. (Circle Fretting System), Gotoh tuners and coil tap, this latest version of the Boundary Iliad HS comes with a compound radius fretboard for seamless chorded playing and string bends. It even has a sculpted neck heel for greater comfort when playing at the higher end of the fretboard. . • FGN Boundary Iliad BIL2-M-HS in Black • If you’re accustomed to playing high-end Japanese-made instruments, the likelihood is that you’ve already played an FGN (Fujigen); the company originally built its reputation as an OEM manufacturer for the world’s most respected brands. Now, with their own range of guitars, they exercise creative independence over instrument design, while maintaining their time-won attention to detail. • This Tele-style Iliad BIL2-M-HS model is fitted with a 6-saddle T-style bridge for accurate intonation. This is further enhanced by FGN’s unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.). Slightly curved frets are mounted so as to ensure that each string and fret intersects at right angles, minimising the contact surface. The result is accurate pitch, cleaner, longer sustain and true harmonics. On this latest model, a compound radius fretboard has been fitted with a smaller 250mm radius towards nut and larger 350mm radius towards neck. This allows for much easier chord playing at lower frets with improved string-bending at higher registers. A sculpted neck heel, usually seen on higher end guitars, also helps improve comfort when you're exploring the higher ranges of the fretboard • An FGN Humbucker at the neck is combined with a single-coil in the bridge position. Coil tap further enhances the tonal versatility. The Boundary Iliad BIL2 M HS is fitted with Gotoh tuners, resulting in silky smooth tuning action.
