Fabergé – Imperial Collection – Limoges porcelain plate “Danish Palaces Egg” – France – with original box and cardboard Description: Collector plate from the Fabergé Imperial Collection, made in Limoges porcelain, France, with central decoration dedicated to the famous Danish Palaces Egg by Carl Fabergé. The plate of 15 cm in diameter features a white background, a rich 24 k gold border and, at the center, a reproduction of the imperial egg in pink, gold and precious stones, accompanied by the cursive inscription “Imperial Danish Palace Egg”. On the reverse is the original gilded mark with the double-headed eagle and inscription: FABERGÉ LIMOGES FRANCE The specimen is kept in the original box “Fabergé Imperial Collection” and is accompanied by the related original illustrative card. The card also indicates the Italian distribution by Braganti, Florence. The decoration is inspired by the famous “Danish Palaces Egg”, created by the Fabergé house in 1890 for Tsar Alexander III and destined for Empress Maria Feodorovna. The original, executed under the direction of Mikhail Perkhin, is characterized by opalescent pink enamel, gold, diamonds, emeralds and by an internal surprise consisting of a screen with miniatures of the Danish residences. Scholarly sources correctly date this egg to 1890. The offered item is a modern decorative Fabergé production in Limoges porcelain, intended for the collectibles market and inspired by the famous imperial Russian artifacts. It is therefore not a 19th‑century Russian object, but an officially branded Fabergé – Limoges France item belonging to the Imperial Collection line.
