Tutte le aste / Etnografia / Exclusive piece ┼ with origin information/sheet - ORANGE...
For sale is a beautiful and excellently documented collector's item: the Amadis cone snail shell in its rare orange coloration form (forma aurantia). This specimen captivates not only with its aesthetic markings but also offers real added value for demanding malacological collections thanks to the existing operculum (shell lid) and precise locality data. Key data at a glance Scientific name: Conus amadis f. aurantia (Dautzenberg, 1937) Size: 70 mm Origin: Cuddalore (Cuddaove), Tamil Nadu, India Additional: Includes original, fitting operculum (shell lid) Documentation: delivery includes a precise provenance sheet (data label) Special features of this specimen The color form (f. aurantia): In contrast to the chocolate-brown ancestral form, this variant presents a warm, intensively orange-brown coat with the typical fine tent-like white triangular markings. With operculum: Only a small fraction of shells offered commercially are prepared with the genuine, original lid. This makes the piece biologically complete and especially sought after by collectors. Classic locality: Cuddalore on the Coromandel Coast of India is renowned for high-quality and vividly colored Conus forms. Condition & preservation The shell is in top condition (F+++ / GEM quality). The shell lip is sharp-edged and intact, the spire runs pointed and clean. No artificial grinding marks – the natural, smooth texture of the snail is perfectly preserved.
