Ewer with pheasant, glazed ceramic, historicist style, 20th century

Descriptio Glazed and polychrome ceramic. Measures 79 x 45 x 28 cm. Ewer consisting of a basin with lid and bowl, decorated with flowers, scrolls, and a striking long-tailed pheasant on a crackled white background. The sides with mascarons and the small front tap enhance its sculptural presence, while the polychrome of blues, yellows, and greens enlivens the surface with a cheerful and domestic tone. The crackled glaze and the exuberance of the ornamental repertoire evoke historicist models of 18th-century inspiration, reinterpreted at the beginning of the 20th century with a clear decorative purpose. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
