European school (XX) - Vedute, Hafenszene

Atmospheric oil painting in the classic veduta style. The scene depicts a picturesque river and/or canal landscape with a small stone bridge and a lock system, animated by figures in historical attire. In the background rises an elegant architectural structure (a chapel with Renaissance elements), while sailboats can be seen on the water against a distant skyline. The painting impresses with fine, detailed execution, a harmonious light treatment with a rich cloudy sky, and a romantic atmosphere. Especially notable is the elaborately crafted, heavy frame in a gold-tone finish. This underlines the painting's classical character and makes it a decorative focal point. Probably the first half of the 20th century Approx. 85 cm x 75 cm with frame, 60 cm x 50 cm painting alone Oil on wood
