Title: On the Way to the Village ㅤ School: Catalan School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Post-Impressionist landscape painting and rural costumbrismo ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas. ㅤ Condition: Generally good apparent condition, with signs of aging and slight wear to the framing. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Work linked to the tradition of Catalan landscape painting of the 20th century, with influences from the Olot School and the pictorial approaches developed by Joaquim Vayreda. The representation of the rural environment, the spontaneous brushwork, and the emphasis given to the atmosphere also recall the post-Impressionist trends present in Catalan painting in the first half of the 20th century. ㅤ The composition represents a Catalan rural landscape crossed by a dirt road that leads to traditional buildings situated in the background.
