Escuela Neobarroca Europea (XX) - Jesucristo en la Cruz

Title: Jesus Christ on the Cross ㅤ School: European Neobaroque School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Religious neobaroque ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Condition: Good overall state of conservation, with slight signs typical of the passage of time. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The composition deliberately recovers the models of Spanish and European baroque religious painting of the 17th and 18th centuries, especially the tenebrist drama, the idealized anatomy of Christ, and the use of a dark background to concentrate all attention on the illuminated body. Its execution in the 20th century responds to a historicist revival of the baroque language. ㅤ Monumental representation of Christ crucified, arranged facing forward against a dark and atmospheric background. The body features carefully worked anatomy, with intense lighting that highlights musculature, wounds, and trickling blood. The white purity cloth introduces a strong contrast with the deep tones of the background. Christ's elevated gaze and the luminous opening of the sky intensify the spiritual and dramatic content of the scene. ㅤ The work presents a narrow reddish wooden frame with a fine interior golden profile, of sober design that allows the protagonism of the composition to remain. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an extra charge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding dimensions or weight of the item.
