Escuela Hiperrealista Europea (XX) - Bodegón tradicional

Title: Traditional Catalan Still Life ㅤ School: Catalan Realist School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Traditional realism and costumbrista still life ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Condition: Generally good state of conservation, with possible signs of age and handling on the frame. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Work stylistically linked to the Spanish and Catalan still-life tradition of the 20th century, with influences from naturalist painting and the still lifes of the great European masters. Its composition recalls the tradition of Luis Egidio Meléndez and Spanish still-life painters of the 18th and 19th centuries, reinterpretated from a contemporary realist sensibility. The treatment of everyday objects and the restrained lighting also show aesthetic proximity to the Dutch still-life tradition. ㅤ The composition presents an attractive traditional still life arranged on a rustic wooden table. It features a loaf with a golden crust accompanied by a red apple, an egg, a glass olive oil cruet with golden oil, and several olive branches laden with dark olives. In the background appear a clay mortar with its pestle, a hanging frying pan, and a string of garlic, elements evoking traditional Mediterranean cuisine. ㅤ The painting stands out for its careful rendering of textures, especially the crust of the bread, the transparency of the glass, and the shine of the olives. Lateral lighting and a background in earthy tones provide depth and a warm, intimate atmosphere. The composition conveys simplicity, authenticity, and a strong Mediterranean identity. ㅤ The work is presented in a dark wooden frame with stepped moldings, a wide ivory inner border, and a fine gold profile. The ensemble offers a classic and elegant presentation that harmonizes with the traditional character of the still life. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging.
