Escuela Fauvista Europea (XX) - Recuerdo de Verano

Title: Summer Memory School: European Fauvist (20th century) Style: Figurative Fauvism Technique: Oil on canvas Circle and artistic influence: Work linked to the realm of European figurative painting of the 20th century, with a strong influence of Fauvism and post-impressionist currents. The expressive use of color, the free brushwork, and the subordination of chromatic fidelity to emotional intensity recall the approaches developed by the French Fauvist circle. Echoes of Henri Matisse's chromatic freedom and the formal synthesis of the post-impressionists are especially perceptible, combined with a more intimate, narrative conception of the family portrait. Composition of evocative and familial character in which portrait and landscape intertwine. On the left side, three female figures of different ages appear: an adult woman accompanied by two girls, depicted with loose and expressive brushwork. The scene assumes a marked affectionate character, resembling the representation of a family memory preserved in memory. The right half opens toward a luminous landscape dominated by blues, whites, greens, and yellows. Plant elements run through the composition and serve as a transition between the two spaces. In the lower zone, a water surface appears with a prominent dragonfly, accompanied by vegetation and a floating leaf. This element adds a poetic and symbolic component to the scene. The work stands out for an intense color palette, with violets, oranges, yellows, greens, and blues applied with notable freedom. The visible brushwork, formal simplifications, and the use of color as an expressive vehicle place the composition within a sensibility close to Fauvism, while preserving a clear figurative intention. The result conveys a sense of luminosity, nostalgia, and summer vitality. Observations: The work is presented unframed. Due to its 20th-century chronology, signs of age and wear typical of the passage of time can be observed. Measurements: 130 x 97.2 cm. The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. Exceptional: shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to factors such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will never be responsible for this surcharge. The courier that must cross the Swiss border may experience much longer delays than normal, so, where possible, to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so that the client can unlock it and have it reach its destination.
