eros raffael - Eros Raffael - Sculpture, 24RO003 - 46 cm - Murano glass

This sculpture in Murano glass finds its poetic and visual roots in the painterly universe of the great master of Abstract Expressionism, Mark Rothko. Through the skilled use of the glass fusing technique, the artist transposes Rothko’s famous exploration of color fields and perceptual thresholds from the painting plane to the third dimension. Concept and Poetics Just as on Rothko’s canvases the blocks of color seem suspended in a vibrant atmosphere with no defined boundaries, in the glass work light penetrates the material, making the color fields light and translucent. Glass fusing allows the different layers of glass and pigments to fuse gradually, creating soft transitions and shades of intense emotional depth. Murano glass, with its intrinsic ability to capture and refract light, transforms the piece into a space of pure contemplation. It is not a mere formal quotation, but an intimate dialogue between the vitreous matter and the observer’s sensibility, inviting one to immerse oneself in a contemplative dimension where color becomes light and spiritual feeling. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of Murano glass, reinterpreted by the extraordinary talent of Eros Raffael. THE MEASUREMENTS ARE TO BE UNDERSTOOD AS INCLUDED IN THE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE.
