This authentic oil painting on panel by the celebrated Spanish Belle Époque artist Enrique Atalaya (1851–1913) is signed, dated (17–6–11), and inscribed "Trocadero" in the lower right corner. The composition frames a pavilion wing of the original, historic Neo-Byzantine Palais du Trocadéro—built for the 1878 World’s Fair and demolished in 1935—behind a prominent, textured tree trunk. Atalaya's signature style shines through his rapid, loose brushstrokes, masterfully contrasting rigid structural architecture with organic flora. The painting is housed in a grand, heavily carved golden Baroque-style gallery frame.
