(2) In carved Kentian frames Sir Charles Lindley Wood, 2nd Viscount of Halifax was a British Anglo-Catholic ecumenist who served as president of the English Church Union from 1868 to 1919, and from 1927 to 1934. He was the son of Charles Wood, 1st Viscount of Halifax and great grandson of Captain Charles Wood (who's wife Caroline is depicted in lot 95). The Honourable Henry John Lindley Wood was Sir Charles' brother.
