This drawing depicts a reclining female nude and is an authentic work signed by the Italian artist Emilio Greco, dated Subiaco, February 1970. The artist: Emilio Greco (Catania 1913 - Rome 1995) was a renowned Italian sculptor, illustrator and engraver, famous worldwide for his sculptures and drawings devoted to the female figure. The stroke: The work shows a woman in a compact pose, rendered with an elegant graphic line, typical of the refined and sinuous style of the master. The context: The inscription in the upper right places the creation of the drawing in Subiaco in February 1970, a period of full artistic maturity for Greco. The visible ink blotches have penetrated to the back of the cardboard; this assures the authenticity of the ink drawing. Frame size 55x80.
