Elegant Ring with an Untreated Sapphire and Brilliant-Cut Diamonds

This platinum ring from our workshop features a precious sapphire as its centerpiece. The oval-faceted stone, weighing 1.10 ct, sparkles in a wonderful medium blue. It is a high-quality, untreated sapphire. This means that it has not been heated or otherwise treated to enhance its colour or clarity. The stone originates from Madagascar. Since the major sapphire discoveries of the 1990s, the island has been among the most significant sources of this gemstone and produces stones in an exceptionally wide range of colors, from classic blue through yellow and green to pink and violet. High-quality blue sapphires like the one here are particularly prized, as their colour and quality can rival those of the famous stones from Sri Lanka or Kashmir. The sapphire in our ring is framed by eleven brilliant-cut diamonds, while two additional diamonds on the right and left elegantly extend toward the ring band. The design is inspired by classic Belle Époque entourage rings, intended to showcase particularly beautiful colored gemstones. The diamonds in the ring are vintage stones that we have deliberately reused here to make the piece of jewellery as sustainable as possible. Likewise, the platinum used comes from older pieces of jewellery that could no longer be restored. The sapphire is being used in a piece of jewellery for the first time. Thus, the piece combines historical references with exceptional gemstones and a contemporary commitment to sustainability and the reuse of precious materials. An independent appraisal has confirmed the quality of the materials.
