EGYPTIAN STONE SCARAB WITH PALM BRANCHES IN SWIVEL GOLD RING

Middle Kingdom, ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A pale stone scarab with a convex back and a carved head. The flat underside is engraved with a symmetrical arrangement of stylised palm branches, enclosed within an oval border. The scarab revolves on a transverse pin between the terminals of a hallmarked 18K gold ring with a round-section hoop and coiled wire collars.
