EGYPTIAN FAIENCE EYE AMULET IN GOLD PENDANT

Late Period, ca. 664 - 332 BC. A pale blue faience wedjat eye amulet with a hatched eyebrow, incised almond-shaped eye, elongated cosmetic line, and cheek marking. Set in a hallmarked 18K gold pendant mount, the amulet is enclosed by a close-fitting frame with a broad gold backing plate. Two suspension loops are attached at the upper corners. Size: 25mm x 18mm; Weight: 4.2g Provenance: UK private collection; London market; ex Oxford collection, 1990s.
