Efim Tsvik - Circo " Viktor Tkhonov" - 1970s

Immerse yourself in the hypnotic allure of avant-garde Soviet graphics with this splendid later reprint of a famous poster from the Soviet Circus of the 1970s. The poster celebrates the iconic trainer and artist Viktor Tikhonov, one of the most celebrated and innovative figures in the Soviet circus, famous for his elegance and his unique performances with the big cats. The work bears the signature of the renowned Moscow designer Efim Semenovich Tsvik, a master at blending modernist aesthetics with bold and fluid influences reminiscent of Pop Art and the Western psychedelic movement of the era. Tikhonov's stylized profile emerges from a sinuous, hypnotic composition. Within the body, the silhouette of a tiger is masterfully integrated, symbolizing his inseparable bond with animals and the arena. The color palette cleverly plays on warm, enveloping tones of antique pink, orange, and olive green, framed by bold Soviet calligraphic characters with strong visual impact.
