Eduardo León Garrido (1893-1982) - Il giovinetto

Eduardo León Garrido (1856-1949) – Rare Oval On Panel Portrait 34x28 – Fine '800 / Early '200 Announcement text: In the auction, a work of great charm and collectible quality: a portrait of a young figure attributed to the famous Spanish painter Eduardo León Garrido. The exceptionally interesting element of this work is the support: an oil painting executed on an authentic oval wooden panel. At the time, the use of wooden panel for portraits was synonymous with value and refinement; wood, unlike canvas, offers a smooth surface that allows the artist to work with immense precision on facial features and skin tones, while also giving extraordinary gloss to the pigments. Main features: Exquisite period craftsmanship: The oval format, typical of late-century high-end portraiture, lends the painting a timeless elegance, perfect for classical interiors or to enhance a prestigious art collection. Signature: Hand-signed by the author "E.L. Garrido", whose hand is recognizable in the skilled use of light and the psychological portrayal of the subject. Materials: Oil on original wooden panel. Condition: The work presents in its original state, full of the flavor of the time, ready to be reframed and enhanced. An unmissable opportunity to acquire a piece of European art history, characterized by a support (the oval panel 34x28) increasingly rare to find on the antique market in these conditions Note: The frame measures 49x44 visible in the photo and is included as a courtesy and does not form an integral part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be a valid reason for claims or order cancellations.”
