Edehlstal Rostfrei - Cutlery set (92) - Steel

Impressive 12-person stainless steel cutlery service, “Edelstahl Rostfrei” – Central European production Extraordinary! and rare 12-person cutlery service made of Edelstahl Rostfrei stainless steel, a German-origin technical term indicating high-quality stainless steel. This is not a brand, but a qualitative specification typical of the finest Central European productions (Germany / Austria) from the 1960s-70s, intended for high-end domestic use and hospitality. The service stands out for its sober and elegant lines, proper ergonomics, and the good weight of the steel, features that ensure solidity, durability, and an excellent presence at the table. A coherent ensemble with the functional aesthetics of German design of the period, able to dialogue with both classical porcelain and modern appliances. ⸻ Composition of the service Table flatware • 12 table forks • 12 table spoons • 12 table knives • 6 fish forks • 6 fish knives • 12 medium spoons • 10 dessert forks (two are missing) • 6 dessert spoons (two show a slight variation in shape, though part of the same service, as visible in the photographs) • 6 moka spoons Serving flatware • 1 scoop • 2 salad utensils (spoon + spoon/fork) • 1 sugar spoon with shell shape • 2 small two-prong forks • 2 serving spoons • 2 ladles (one large and one small) ⸻ Total number of pieces 92 pieces in total A particularly high and uncommon number, which makes the service rare in terms of completeness and difficult to reassemble today. ⸻ Origin Likely German or Central European production, dating to the 1960s-1970s. The quality of the steel and the designation “Edelstahl Rostfrei” are typical of manufactories in the German-speaking area specialized in long-lasting flatware. ⸻ Conditions Good overall condition. Normal signs of time and use, consistent with the age of the service. Solid steel, free of oxides. The slight differences between two dessert spoons are correctly noted and visible in the photographs.
