E. García - Espacio moderno XL

“Modern Space” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work portrays a bright, meticulously organized interior centered around a set of designer furniture, transforming a domestic space into a composition with strong pictorial character. In the center, a white round table surrounded by four reddish armchairs creates an almost symmetrical structure. On the table, a vase with flowers introduces a delicate focal point, while two large plants placed on either side frame the scene. The curved furniture shapes contribute a strong modern aesthetic and contrast with the simple architecture of the space. The palette is dominated by intense yellows and warm ochres, accompanied by reds, dark greens, whites, and small bluish nuances. A feature of particular importance is the large circular skylight in the ceiling, whose blue opening introduces a sense of spaciousness and allows for an interesting play between natural light, geometry, and color. The frontal perspective, the simplification of forms, and visible brushwork bring the work closer to the language of Fauvism and the modern tradition of interior painting. Echoes of Henri Matisse can be recognized in the use of domestic space as a chromatic stage and in the coexistence of furniture, plants, rugs, and large color surfaces. “Modern Space” offers a serene yet intensely chromatic scene, where architecture, interior design, and painting meet. A work particularly attractive to collectors interested in interiors, modern design, furniture, architecture, Fauvism, expressive color, and contemporary figurative painting.
