Duitsland / Frankrijk - Art Deco - Stand - Cast iron - Christmas tree stand

A very atmospheric and decorative antique cast-iron Christmas tree stand from the early 20th century (possibly Germany or France). This heavy-quality stand is beautifully openwork with a detailed, wintry nature motif. The four corners of the square base show realistic embossed images of squirrels nibbling on a pine branch and birds in their nest among the pine needles. The metalwork has a splendid aged patina with the original dark-green paint, subtly accented with bronzy/golden highlights on the animals and branches. The stand is equipped with the three original, sturdy wing screws with decorative heads to firmly anchor the tree trunk in place. Although the piece is unmarked, the high quality of the casting and the expressive details testify to craftsmanship from the Art Nouveau / early Art Deco period. A nostalgic and functional centerpiece for the approaching holidays. 19.5 x 12 cm. In a beautiful, authentic antique condition. The stand shows charming signs of age and a nicely lived patina that enhance its historical character. No cracks or breaks in the cast iron. The screws turn smoothly. See the photos for an accurate impression of the condition; they are an integral part of the description. We package carefully and ship with Track & Trace.
