Due Cani Terrier / Schnauzer su Base in Legno Massello - Sculpture

Refined vintage artisanal sculpture - Pair of Terrier dogs in coppery/galvanic metal on a rustic wooden base Large antique sculpture depicting two dogs of the Terrier/Schnauzer breed, portrayed in a vigilant and dynamic pose. The workmanship, clearly hand-modelled, shows extraordinary skill in the expressiveness of the faces, with the typical full beard, pronounced eyebrows, and a curly, wiry coat sculpted in strong relief. A popular type of animalier sculpture in France in the first half of the 20th century. These pieces were created by art workshops or specialized foundries to enrich homes and studies with hunting or canine subjects. The combination of copper coating and rustic base makes it a unique decorative piece with strong impact. - Metal: Presumably copper (or sculptural core with coppery/galvanic coating), a technique common in historical artisanal works to give a warm, tactile sheen to the piece. - Base: Original solid hardwood plank with an extremely solid and sturdy mounting (the subjects have no wobble). - Technique: Hand-sculpted, rich in detail and sculptural texture. - Total height: 25.7 cm - Total length: 37.2 cm - Depth: 17.8 cm - Weight: 3.3 kg Condition and Patina: The object presents in excellent solid condition, with outstanding aesthetic appeal due to careful cleaning. It shows normal signs of aging. Wood: The base shows deep natural cracks and time-worn pronounced grain. Patina: Retains signs of age and slight natural traces of greenish oxidation (verdigris) in some recesses, an added value for lovers of authentic patina.
