Die grafischen Arbeiten des französischen Künstlers Bertrand Dorny zeichnen sich durch ein meisterhaftes Zusammenspiel von Haptik, Geometrie und Struktur aus. Nach seiner Ausbildung an der École des Beaux-Arts in Paris widmete sich Dorny intensiv der Radierkunst und entwickelte eine unverwechselbare Bildsprache, die das klassische Druckverfahren mit Relief- und Collageelementen verbindet. In der vorliegenden Arbeit Forme cassée verschmelzen geometrische Flächen in kräftigem Terracotta, Tiefblau und Ocker zu einer ausbalancierten, abstrakten Komposition. Charakteristisch für Dornys Schaffen ist der stark ausgeprägte Prägedruck: Die scharf abgegrenzten Kanten treten plastisch hervor und verleihen dem Blatt eine fast skulpturale Tiefe. Das Werk überzeugt durch den spannungsreichen Kontrast zwischen der tektonischen Klarheit der Formen und der feingliedrigen Textur der Aquatinta. The graphic works of French artist Bertrand Dorny are distinguished by a masterful interplay of tactile qualities, geometry, and structure. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Dorny devoted himself extensively to printmaking and developed a distinctive visual language that combines traditional printmaking techniques with relief and collage elements. In the present work, “Forme cassée,” geometric areas in rich terracotta, deep blue, and ochre merge into a balanced abstract composition. Characteristic of Dorny’s work is the strongly pronounced embossing: the sharply defined edges rise in relief, giving the sheet an almost sculptural depth. The work is particularly striking for the dynamic contrast between the tectonic clarity of the forms and the finely textured surface of the aquatint. Good condition consistent with age, with rich embossed printing and a full plate mark.
