Rolex Art Chessboard – Green Racing & Gold – Unique Piece – 40 × 40 cm – Entirely handmade This creation is a unique piece of contemporary art chessboard, imagined around the world of prestige watchmaking and Rolex’s visual identity. A striking decorative piece, halfway between a collectible object, sculpture and design art. The 40 × 40 cm board, made of aluminum, combines a deep green and ivory checkered pattern with several graphic references inspired by the watchmaking universe: dial, crown, mechanical details and reflections. The whole offers a very elegant rendering, particularly luminous, with a beautiful visual depth. The 32 pieces are made of resin and then fully painted, patinated and finished by hand. The contrast between the white pieces with gilded details and the pieces in metallic green creates a visually spectacular presence. Some pieces deliberately adopt original and sculptural shapes, giving this chessboard a true artistic identity. Unlike my usually numbered editions, this exemplar is a unique piece: 1/1. There will therefore be no second identical chessboard.
