Domaine Gallety, in the Ardèche since 1974, is a benchmark of the Côtes du Vivarais appellation. Alain and David-Alexandre Gallety farm organic vines of Syrah, Grenache, Marsanne, and Roussanne, crafting elegant, authentic wines that reflect their clay-limestone terroir. 1) Red Cuvée Gallety 2022 (2 bottles) Red Cuvée Gallety shows a deep purple color with violet reflections. The nose is charming and expressive, opening on black fruits, especially blackberry, with notes of spice and liquorice. On the palate, the wine is elegant, structured, lively, and fruity, generous yet remarkably easy-drinking. Made from a classic blend of Syrah and Grenache, this wine comes from 40 to 45-year-old vines grown on clay-limestone and schist soils in the heart of the Ardèche. Vinification: hand-harvested grapes undergo a 21-day maceration in tank, followed by 14 to 15 months of aging in oak barrels. Food pairing: perfect with a beef rib, roast venison, or forest-style pheasant. 2) White Cuvée Gallety 2024 (1 bottle) White Cuvée Gallety shows a bright, pale gold color. The nose is fresh and expressive, with aromas of exotic fruits and citrus, complemented by a subtle quince note. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced between freshness and roundness, with a lovely richness and natural acidity giving it a distinctive length. Made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Marsanne, this wine comes from 40-year-old vines grown on the clay-limestone soils of the Ardèche. Vinification: hand-harvested grapes, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel tank to preserve the wine's freshness and fruit purity. Food pairing: perfect as an aperitif, with fish, shellfish, or white meats.
