Document concerning the Manor of Stinchcombe, Gloucestershire, dated 8th of October 1781, giving a list of the Freeholders within Stinchcombe ad other residencies, the names of the three Constables and three Tithing men, list of fourteen persons summoned to serve on the jury at the Court Leet or view of Frankpledge and Court Baron on 8th October 1781, concerning hedges and ditches detailing where these are to be. Also, electing a Constable, Tithing man and Hayward all before Thomas Holder. Bailiff of the Manor and William Wizard Gentleman Steward. Definitions - Tithing men are local officials responsible for keeping peace, enforcing law and maintaining order. A Haywards are Parish officers who guarded farm crops fences and common land from stray animals and livestock.
