Dinosaur - Fossil tooth - Ichthyovenator Laosensis

ICHTHYOVENATOR LAOSENSIS – FOSSIL TOOTH For sale: an authentic fossil tooth of Ichthyovenator laosensis, an extremely distinctive spinosaurid theropod dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous of Laos. Ichthyovenator literally means “fish hunter” and refers to the presumably piscivorous lifestyle of this impressive spinosaurid. The species Ichthyovenator laosensis was described in 2012 and comes from the Grès Supérieurs Formation in Savannakhet Province, Laos. Fossils of the species include, in addition to bone material, also teeth. SPECIMEN INFORMATION • Species: Ichthyovenator laosensis • Type: Fossil tooth • Family: Spinosauridae • Formation: Grès Supérieurs Formation • Locality: Savannakhet Province, Laos • Period: Early Cretaceous • Likely age: approx. 121–113 million years The tooth has an elongated, conical shape with clear vertical grooves/ribbing along the surface, a characteristic that fits well with spinosaurid teeth. The natural brown and earthly fossil coloration gives the specimen a distinctive character. Ichthyovenator laosensis is of particular interest to collectors because it is one of the few officially named spinosaurids from Asia. The species is known from the Grès Supérieurs Formation of the Savannakhet Basin in Laos. INFORMATION CARD INCLUDED Each tooth comes with a professional information card, as shown in the photos. It lists the scientific name, geological age, formation, and locality. A special fossil for collectors of dinosaurs, spinosaurids, and fossils from Southeast Asia. An authentic tooth of Ichthyovenator laosensis makes a beautiful piece of history from the Early Cretaceous of Laos. Dimensions: see photos / individual advertisement. Provenance: Savannakhet Province, Laos. Kind regards, @Kaya_Fossils
