Set of 4 Dinky Toys (Meccano) miniature trucks – Original vintage models with wind-up Berliet 34A, Simca Cargo 33 & Studebaker Esso Description of the lot (French Version General description: A very beautiful vintage set consisting of 4 collectible miniature trucks from the Dinky Toys (Meccano) brand, produced in the 1950s and 1960s. These authentic metal-injected (zamak) models are classic highly sought after by collectors of vintage utility vehicles from the golden age of toy miniatures. Details of the models included in the lot: Berliet GLM "Benne Carrières" truck (Ref. 34A) - France: Iconic construction site model featuring a blue cab and an orange dump bed. The original side wind-up crank and its lower geared wheel are present, allowing the mechanical dumping system to be operated. The black original tin chassis bears the engraving Dinky Toys Berliet 34A Meccano - Made in France. Simca Cargo van (Ref. 33) - France: Stunning two-tone version with a green-olive painted metal cab and rims, paired with a large orange-yellow closed cargo body. The chassis bears the inscription Dinky Toys Simca Cargo Made in France by Meccano. The two rear doors in tin and their original closing mechanism are complete and functional. Studebaker "Esso Petrol / Motor Oil" Tanker Truck (Ref. 30P / 440) - Great Britain: Brick-red version with its original white side stripes "MOTOR OIL - ESSO - PETROL" well preserved. Tin chassis marked Dinky Toys - Made in England - Meccano Ltd. Original red-painted wheels. Studebaker Tanker Truck "Petrol" (Ref. 30P / 440) - Great Britain: Second Studebaker tanker truck, red with a black side inscription "PETROL" on the tank. Bare metal chassis marked Dinky Toys - Made in England - Meccano Ltd. Technical specifications: Manufacturer: Dinky Toys / Meccano Manufacturing country: France (Made in France) and United Kingdom (Made in England) Era: 1950s-1960s Material: Metal (Zamak), chassis in tin and original rubber tires (black and smooth) Scale: Approximately 1:43 / 1:50 Condition: Models: Used/Playwear condition (Playworn). The miniatures carry a beautiful original patina with some paint loss and chips visible on the bodies (notably on the edges and roofs), which confirms their authenticity with no modern restoration or repaints. The Esso truck markings are remarkably clear for their age. Movable elements: The Berliet wind-up mechanism rotates, the Simca Cargo rear doors open and close correctly. Components: The chassis, wheels, axles and silvered radiators are original. The rubber tires show normal age-related wear but remain on their rims.
