Denver, Colorado. United Supply Company. 1892 $2. PMG Very Fine 30. No. 993. Dated November 1, 1892. THE UNITED SUPPLY COMPANY curved title at top center. Large red "TWO" denomination counter at center. Company monogram flanking at both left and right. Facsimile signature of H.C. Brooks Jr. as Cashier at lower right. Large red "2" counter on back. Good for Merchandise on verso. Yet another example of the "Not Intended to be Used as Money" genre of scrip that was so popular in the late 18th and early 19th century Western states and territories. A nice Very Fine of this whole denomination note is a rarity indeed. A great piece that will certainly find a happy new home with one of the many avid collectors of Western Americana.
