Perfectly centered, wonderfully toned and with razor sharp details, this is truly a magnificent survivor of this typical Valdemarian issue. The reverse legend: ANDREA demonstrates unambiguously that the coin was minted in Lund for Andreas Suneson; it is highly plausible that the type was struck to coincide with his formal investiture as archbishop in 1202.
