DENMARK. Gold Krone, 1659. Glückstadt Mint. Frederik III. NGC Unc Details--Bent. Fr-120; KM-40.2; Hede-145A; Sieg-160A; Schou-10; Aagaard-3.1 (57.1-59.2); Bruun-6301. Weight: 5.93 gms. Mintmaster: Jacob Schwieger. Engraver: Matthias Först (obverse), Johan Blum (reverse). The slightly uneven flan detracts nothing from the fact that this is a highly attractive specimen, boasting a fantastic mint luster and razor-sharp details. Of this type, where the king's motto, DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT (The Lord will provide), is written in capital letters, Aagaard knows of only this single specimen in private ownership. Estimate: €8,000 - €11,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Alfred Benzon Collection (Copenhagen - 1887) Lot # 1135.
