Washington, D.C....., July 15th–20th, 1918. This impressive oblong, ribbon-tied souvenir album has 32 pages. It was produced for the union whose members printed the nation's currency, bonds and stamps at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The cover bears a finely engraved intaglio portrait of George Washington, and the script-engraved title page features a vignette of the U.S. Capitol. Highlights include a superb intaglio portrait of President Woodrow Wilson, signed in the plate by G.F.C. Smillie, the Bureau's master portrait engraver, and a flying American Eagle vignette with "E Pluribus Unum."
