David Law - The Dreamed Shadows II

ew series – The Dreamed Shadows Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship with illusion and projection. New series – The Dreamed Shadows The Dreamed Shadows explore the boundary between presence and disappearance. A female silhouette takes shape through backlit veils, forming an image that seems both real and dreamlike.
