Special Series Crypto Rock - Recreating a photo using photographs of the represented artist. Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer and artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a disturbing, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close, it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the subject’s artistic universe. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough job is done on colors, light, and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, adhered between two aluminum plates, with UV- and humidity-resistant soft lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great longevity, color stability, and a modern, contemporary rendering. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also a photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical practice including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.v
