Artist Photographer – Creator of Contemporary Images Multidisciplinary visual artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A New Reading of Cultural Icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made from thousands of micro-graphical compositions. From a distance, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the subject’s artistic universe. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is carried out on colors, light, and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 Artist’s Proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a flexible UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
