David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on the gaze, presence and perception of imagery in urban space. He first made himself known through a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Production Each artwork is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft anti-UV and anti-humidity lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Parcours Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops an author and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photobook and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
