Crypto Rock Series - Reconstituting a photo using photographs of the represented artist. Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figures, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a disturbing, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic components. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts like a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough job is done on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear hanging. Printed on luminous white vinyl, back-mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminating, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary rendering. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops an author and musician’s work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
