Special Series Crypto Rock - Recreating a photo using photos of the represented artist. Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first became known through a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mount. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a flexible UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, great long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary rendering. Career Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a writer-artist-musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
