Danese Milano - - Bruno Munari - Floor lamp - Falkland - Aluminium

Bruno Munari, 1964. Floor lamp. Diffuser in elastic tubular white mesh, frame in painted steel. The shape of the lamp ‘Falkland’ arises from the tension of a filanca tube and the weight of several metal rings: it is a spontaneous form, generated solely by the tension of the internal forces that make it up. Seven metal rings of different diameters, a white filanca tube, a single lamp and an aluminum reflector that repeats the curves of the fabric. This lamp corresponds more than others to the requirements Munari marks as indispensable for proper design: simplicity, efficiency, minimal storage footprint and maximum formal yield. It arises from the mixture of objects very distant from each other, such as fishing nets, women’s stockings and Oriental paper lamps. Over a meter and sixty tall, it compacts in the packaging to just a few centimeters of space, the light filters through the tube, using the fabric’s texture to create a distinctive effect of soft and diffused luminosity. After purchasing, please kindly send via Catawiki messaging your national ID code or VAT number to complete the invoice. Infinite thanks shipments will resume after August 22. #lindatol
