Curt Schlevogt - Franz Hagenauer - Sculpture

The Madonna Bust, designed in 1930 by Franz Hagenauer, was made in Czechoslovakia by Curt Schlevogt for inclusion in the "INGRID" range of products. The bust is illustrated in the book "Ingrid" by Petr Novy on page 73. This beautifully crafted Madonna Bust is made of Satin, Alexandrite glass. Attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the figurine, from the delicate features of the face to the intricate folds in the clothing. Alexandrite glass has the characteristic that when placed in a certain type of lighting the colour will change, in this case from lilac to green. (See photo).
