Corentin - 3x C - 3 Album - First edition - 1984/2016

Corentin – 3 works around the Paul Cuvelier universe. First editions/originals. Beautiful lot for a collector devoted to Corentin, the famous character created by Paul Cuvelier, bringing together three works from very different periods: a substantial monograph from 1984 dedicated to Cuvelier, a 1992 edition of L’Extraordinaire Odyssée, and the 2016 first edition of a new Corentin adventure. A set particularly interesting for fans of Paul Cuvelier, of Corentin and of the history of Franco-Belgian comics. The lot includes: 1. PHILIPPE GODDIN – CORENTIN AND THE PATHS OF WUNDERKIND Paul Cuvelier and the Comics Éditions du Lombard – Collection “Nos Auteurs” Original edition – legal deposit January 1984 ISBN : 2-8036-0473-6 / 978-2-8036-0473-9 A documentary work particularly sought after, devoted to Paul Cuvelier and his artistic career. More than 250 illustrations in color, sepia and black, documents, sketches, preliminary drawings and working studies. The book contains notably unpublished elements around Corentin, including the unfinished last adventure Corentin and the Red Ogre, as well as an unpublished Wapi episode. With a testimony from Hergé. This 1984 original edition is no longer marketed by Le Lombard and is mainly found on the second-hand market. 2. PAUL CUVELIER – CORENTIN, THE EXTRAORDINARY ODYSSEY – VOLUME 1 Éditions du Lombard Legal deposit: November 1992 ISBN : 2-8036-0994-0 / 978-2-8036-0994-9 Original edition of this three-volume publication. This edition reprints the early Corentin adventures in the form of The Extraordinary Odyssey. It is an old edition today replaced commercially by comprehensive publications. A particularly interesting copy to complete a collection in this early-1990s edition. 3. JEAN VAN HAMME & CHRISTOPHE SIMON – CORENTIN, THE THREE PEARLS OF SA-SKYA Éditions du Lombard First edition Legal deposit: June 2016 ISBN : 978-2-8036-3578-8 New Corentin adventure created in homage to the universe conceived by Paul Cuvelier. Story: Jean Van Hamme Artwork: Christophe Simon Lettering: Michel Brun The copy bears the designation “First edition” and the legal deposit of June 2016. A lot that thus holds real historical and publishing interest, since it brings together a 1984 original documentary edition, an early 1992 edition, and a 2016 first edition. Condition: perfect overall, see photos for details.
