Cookie jar - Metal, wood, mirror and glass - bonbonniere

Elegant Art Deco Biscuit Box / Centerpiece – Glass, metal & wood (c. 1930) Description: A highly sophisticated and luxurious Art Deco biscuit box or bonbonnière, dating back to the early 1930s. This piece is a example of the interwar period's fascination with mixed materials and geometric rhythms. It serves not only as a highly functional serving piece but also as a sculptural centerpiece for any modernist or classic interior. Design & Aesthetics: The design relies on a masterful interplay of lines and textures. The heavy glass body features decoration that catches and refracts the light beautifully. Adding a final touch of pure 'Machine Age' elegance are the cylindrical handles on the overarching carrying handle and the lid, offering a superb geometric contrast to the rest of the object. Materials: This box perfectly captures the Art Deco ethos of combining industrial and luxury materials. It features thick, clear glass, housed within a metal framework and a mirror bottom. The contrasting cylindrical handles are characteristic of the era and are crafted from wood. Condition: The object is in good, authentic vintage condition. The metalwork displays a patina consistent with its age, without any distracting damage. The heavy glass has been well-preserved, remaining clear and structurally sound without chips or cracks. The lot will be carefully and securely packaged, and shipped with full tracking and insurance.
