Superb Figurative Mustard Pot in German Porcelain - The Shepherdess and Her Dog - Complete (3 pieces) Circa 1900 - Edwardian era Magnificent and rare figurative mustard pot (often called "Character Mustard Pot") in German porcelain from the Belle Époque period (circa 1900-1915). This superb collectible piece depicts a young shepherdess or peasant in traditional dress. She wears a bright yellow cloak, pink gloves, a protective blue-lined hat, and a long violet and white checkered skirt. At her feet, on the side, there lies an adorable small grey sleeping dog. It is a complete 3-piece model original: The top part (lid): Representing the bust and head of the shepherdess. The body of the object: Forming the skirt of the shepherdess and the condiment pot, with the dog sculpted on the base. The original spoon: White porcelain, indispensable and intact. The underside of the base bears the original engraved mark "4920" (model/mold number) as well as the provenance note "Germany" in cursive writing, typical of the prestigious Thuringian productions of that era (such as Goebel or Conte & Boehme). Dimensions : Height : 11 cm Width : 6 cm Exceptional condition / Showroom condition. The object has probably never been used. No chipping, no cracks, no restoration. The hand-painted colors have remained remarkably fresh and vivid. A piece of such quality and complete with its original spoon has become extremely difficult to find on today’s antique market. Very careful shipping, ultra-protected (double boxing and abundant bubble wrap) with tracking and insurance.
